We practice Hatha yoga which is a system of physical techniques and breathwork which preserve and channel the body’s energy. By focussing on the breath, and ‘feeling in’ to the body in the poses, the aim is to concentrate on the present moment and give the mind a break from the constant chatter. This can help with reducing stress and contributes to overall good health. 

The class is not too fast paced and a pose will be layered up so you have the choice of moving on to the next level if you want. Over time and with practice, you will notice the changes as you grow in strength and flexibility. 

A typical class will include some standing postures, balances, back bends and forward bends, twists and mat based work, all working with reference to the breath. Quite often there is a theme to draw it all together. I aim to make this class an invitation to open, stretch and strengthen the body whilst giving the mind the space to find some stillness.

We always end with a few minutes of relaxation so that you have the opportunity to assimilate the benefits of your practice.
